| Posted: 29 Mar 2012 05:40 AM PDT  TN Government initiative on Vijay's film The inmates of Salem Central Jail got a special treat as they got to watch Vijay starrer Nanban on Sunday. This is part of an initiative taken by the government to treat prisoners more humanely. Extra curricular activities are arranged once in a while to give them some release from the rigours of prison life. Nanban (remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots), directed by Shankar and produced by Gemini Film Circuit, also has Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana, Sathyaraj and Sathyan in prominent roles. The entertainment tax was waived off for this film that's a wholesome family entertainer.  |

It is heard that Ilayathalapathy Vijay will play the role of a cop. Vijay has earlier played the role of an undercover cop in Pokkiri, which went on to become one of the most successful films in his career. The ace cinematographer Santhosh sivan has updated in a micro-blogging site, "Most of Thuppakki is being shot in real locations, with hidden cameras".  Thuppaki composed by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography handled by Santhosh Sivan is scheduled for a mid-2012 release. first looks of the flim is expected to release on Apr 13, 2012 Friday "Tamil New Year"  |
