It's Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay's birthday today. And his colleagues from the film industry took to Twitter to wish the star.

Vijay's Thuppakki teaser release postponed ‎

Fans of Vijay might be disappointed to read this news, as the teaser of Ilayathalapathy's next film Thuppakki will not be released on the actor's 38th birthday (June 22). However, it will be released in the first week of July.
Director AR Murugadoss, who was bombarded with questions related to the release by the Vijay fans on Twitter, has clarified that the trailer will be released 10 days after the actor's birthday and requested them to cooperate with him. He wrote, "New releases and Vijay sir's bday make June 22 big. Thuppakki teaser wil come after 10 days. Pls bear with us."
Furthermore, it is also being said that the makers of the film have deliberately taken the decision stating that the promotions of their film might go unnoticed due to the release of Ajith Kumar's Billa 2 and Karthi's Sauguni which is releasing on June 22. Thuppakki is a gangster film set in the backdrop of Mumbai and has Kajal Agarwal playing the lead, while Vidyut Jamal plays the baddie. The film is expected to release by 15th August 2012.

Vijay met with a minor mishap during the shoot of Thuppakki and has hurt his knee. The shooting has been stalled following the incident. The actor is presently in London to undergo treatment. His part of shooting will resume once he returns.

The actor had also planned to attend the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IIFM), but that is not likely to happen now. We pray for the actor's speedy recovery.

On completing the Vijay-starrer Thuppakki, AR Murugadoss will remake the film in Hindi The remake of the Southern action thriller Thuppakki will have Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Interestingly, Vijay made a cameo appearance in Akshay's latest release, Rowdy Rathore. And now, Murugadoss says he is planning to request Vijay to do a similar appearence in the Hindi remake of Thuppakki too. In the Tamil version, Vijay is playing a Mumbai-based man - Jagadeesh. "The story is about a sudden turn in his life and how he emerges triumphant after the challenges thrown at him," says A R Murugadoss, who is directing the movie. The Nanban actor is paired opposite Kajal Aggarwal in the film.

The filmmaker adds: "Kajal plays a girl who also hails from a Tamil family, but is settled in Mumbai. We have shot the film in some of the busy locales of the business capital. Vijay co-operated extremely well." With Akshay doing the Hindi remake, we wonder if Kajal will reprise her role in the remake.

'துப்பாக்கி' படம் குறித்தும், எந்த அளவிற்கு பணிகள் முடிந்து இருக்கின்றன என்பது குறித்தும் ஏ.ஆர்.முருகதாஸ் அளித்து இருக்கும் பேட்டியில் இருந்து,

" துப்பாக்கி படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு கிட்டதட்ட 60% முடிவடைந்து விட்டது. மும்பை வாழும் ஒரு தமிழ் குடும்பத்தினை பற்றிய கதை. அதனால் முழுக்க முழுக்க மும்பையில் படப்பிடிப்பு தொடர்ந்து நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.

விஜய்யிடம் நான் இவ்வளவு TIMING, SENSE OF HUMOUR எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை. படத்தில் ஒரு பக்க வசனம் ஆகட்டும், நீளமான காட்சிகள் ஆகட்டும் எல்லாவற்றையும் ஒரே டேக்கில் செய்து முடித்து விடுகிறார்.

உண்மையிலேயே இதனை நான் ஒரு கமர்ஷியல், மாஸ் ஹீரோ விஜய்யிடம் நான் எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை. இதனை நான் அவரிடமே கூறி இருக்கிறேன்.

கமல் சாருக்கு பிறகு விஜய் சார் தான் தொடர்ந்து பாடல்களை பாடி வந்தார். ஏனோ அவரும் 6 வருடங்களாக பாடல் எதுவும் பாடுவது இல்லை.

விஜய்யை பாட வைத்து அதனை நமது படத்திற்கு உபயோகிக்க வேண்டும் என்று ஆசைப்பட்டேன். ஹாரிஸ் சாரும் அந்த பாடலை கம்போஸ் செய்து முடித்தவுடன் விஜய்யை இந்த பாடலை பாட வைக்கலாமா என்று கேட்டார். நானும் நம்ம நினைத்தோம், இவர் கேட்கிறாரே என்று உடனே சரி என்று கூறி விட்டேன். அப்பாடல் கண்டிப்பாக 'துப்பாக்கி' ஆல்பத்தில் ஒரு சிறந்த பாடலாக இருக்கும் என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை.

'துப்பாக்கி' படத்தின் கதையினை முதலில் இந்தியில் அக்ஷய்குமார் நடிப்பதாக தான் இருந்தது. ஆனால் விஜய் சாரின் கால்ஷீட் தயாராக இருக்கிறது என்றவுடன் அக்கதையினை விஜய் சார் வைத்து தமிழில் உடனே துவங்கி விட்டேன். இப்படத்தினை முடிந்தவுடன் இதே கதையினை அக்ஷய்குமாரை வைத்து இந்தியில் பண்ண இருக்கிறேன்.

'கஜினி' படத்தினை அடுத்து இந்தியில் ரீமேக் செய்யக் கூடாது என்று நினைத்தேன். ஆனால் அது முடியாமல் போய்விட்டது. " என்று தெரிவித்து இருக்கிறார்.

Akshay thinks Vijay is 17

We all know how Vijay impressed everyone with his dancing skills in Rowdy Rathore. The person who was responsible for the act was Prabhu Deva, the director of the film and in a recent interview, he has revealed some interesting details about the same.

Initially, Prabhu Deva was a little apprehensive to ask Vijay about doing a dance, but when the director asked Vijay about it, his immediate response was 'why not?' In an hour's time Vijay, who was in Mumbai for the shoot of Thuppakki, was at the sets of Rowdy Rathore. Prabhudeva said that initially Akshay couldn't believe Vijay was going to dance with him. The Bollywood actor received Vijay with a warm hug. Akshay was so amazed to see the actor and asked Prabhu Deva, "What's he, just 17"?

Prabhu Deva also said that he is not trying to provide a Bollywood launch pad for Vijay. He said, "No way. He doesn't need someone to recommend. Bollywood will welcome him with its hands wide open."

Is Vijay's Next With Hari??

The Ilayathalapathy recently met director Hari to discuss a project say sources . If all goes well the Superstar Vijay will be seen in Hari's next.

Busy completing Murugadoss's action thriller Thuppakki, the actor has a lineup of films to work on next. After completing Thuppakki, Vijay will start Gautham Menon's forthcoming film Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru. He has also signed Director Deivathirumagal fame Vijay.

Sources close to the actor say that he did indeed meet the director but only to have a general discussion. He has not heard a script or any such thing. Plus, they also say, at this point he wants to finish all his projects on hand before he decides his next.

Vijay gets a new set of fans

It was reported already that the Vijay starrer Thuppaki is being shot in some public places in Mumbai. AR Murugadoss wanted some real locations instead of the sets and has obtained permission from the authorities concerned to film in some real locations.

The second schedule has been completed and some important scenes have been filmed.The third schedule will begin on April 12th in Mumbai. A major chunk of the film has been shot in Mumbai.

At these locations, some great stunt sequences are being filmed. Interestingly, Vijay is doing all these stunts without opting for a dupe. Sources say that the Ilayathalapathy wanted a real-effect since the director has taken so much of pains for the shooting.

People in Mumbai, who have been seeing the filming of these stunt sequences, are awed by Vijay's caliber. The star has clearly emerged a hit favorite among the Mumbaikers, say sources in the tinsel town.

Vijay's look in the film is supposed to be one of the highlights on the film in addition to the script, music, action sequences and Santhosh Sivan's cinematography. The first look for Thuppaki is expected to be out soon as the director sat down recently with designers in Chennai to supervise it personally. Murugadoss has promised fans that their favorite star is going to look more handsome than ever before

Nanban fever also in Prison!!

TN Government initiative on Vijay's film The inmates of Salem Central Jail got a special treat as they got to watch Vijay starrer Nanban on Sunday. This is part of an initiative taken by the government to treat prisoners more humanely. Extra curricular activities are arranged once in a while to give them some release from the rigours of prison life.

Nanban (remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots), directed by Shankar and produced by Gemini Film Circuit, also has Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana, Sathyaraj and Sathyan in prominent roles.

The entertainment tax was waived off for this film that's a wholesome family entertainer.

A.R. Murugadoss' next film Thuppakki with Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal is progressing briskly.. It is heard that Ilayathalapathy Vijay will play the role of a cop. Vijay has earlier played the role of an undercover cop in Pokkiri, which went on to become one of the most successful films in his career.

The ace cinematographer Santhosh sivan has updated in a micro-blogging site, "Most of Thuppakki is being shot in real locations, with hidden cameras".

Similarly, choreographer Shobi Paulraj, who recently shot for a song in the film updated, "Last week, we shot the song in Thuppakki. The song was sung by Mr.Vijay, and composed by Mr.Harris Jayaraj. It was a superb experience... And for first time I'm working with Santhosh Sivan sir. It was unforgettable. Audio is superb... hope visual also comes out well..."

Thuppaki composed by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography handled by Santhosh Sivan is scheduled for a mid-2012 release. first looks of the flim is expected to release on Apr 13, 2012 Friday "Tamil New Year"

Vijay to work in two films simultaneously!!

Vijay is clearly a man on a mission. Having wooed the family audience with his latest offering 'Nanban', the actor has chalked his plans such that the next three flicks of his are entirely action-based.
In his current film 'Thuppaki', the actor is said to play an army man, while in his next too, with Gautham Menon, the Ilaya Thalapathi will play a slick action role. His third film, being directed by AL Vijay, too is said to be an action entertainer.
The actor is currently in Bangkok shooting for 'Thuppaki', in which he pairs with Kajal Aggarwal. AR Murugadoss directs this flick, which is expected to be complete by June.
The actor had earlier announced that the would take up 'Yohan' following this film, shooting for which was slated to start this summer. 'Yohan- Adhiyaayam Ondru' is said to be an action film along the lines of 'Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu'.

However, director AL Vijay, who is teaming up with actor Vijay for another movie, clarifies that shooting for his Vijay-starrer would begin in June too, as he has already finalised a complete action script for the actor.
The 'Madrasapattinam' director clarified that only the film's storyline was complete, apart from finalisng Vijay as the lead. "Shriya Saran has not be roped in to play the heroine," clarified, the filmmaker, who is shooting 'Thaandavam', with Vikram in the lead, currently.

Vijay has crooned a number for AR Murugadoss directed Thuppaki in which Kajal Agarwal is the heroine. Harris Jeyaraj is the music director. The entire cast and crew are in love with the peppy number rendered by Vijay. They want to make sure they do justice to the song and the team has flown to Bangkok to shoot the song in some stunning locales.
The lead pair is dancing up a storm under the tutelage of Bollywood choreographers and Vijay already famed for his dancing skills has reportedly done an outstanding job. Insiders swear that the song is going to generate a huge craze across the country!
